This is an axe sheath designed to protect fingers from the razor sharp axe edge as well as to protect the axe edge itself from nicks and other damage. Also included is a matching protective guard for the axe handle. It prevents damage to the haft which can result from over-striking when chopping with an axe. Several versions are shown here; both with and without tooling.
